A redesign shouldn't start with choosing a new theme.
Before touching the design, I usually want to understand five things.
- Performance
How fast is the current website?
Where is the bottleneck?
- Content
Which pages actually bring traffic and business?
- User journey
Can visitors quickly understand what the company offers?
- Technical structure
Are the theme, plugins, scripts, images, and frontend architecture creating unnecessary problems?
- SEO
Will the redesign preserve existing URLs, metadata, internal links, structured content, and search visibility?
A website redesign isn't just a visual project.
Changing the colors and layout is easy.
The difficult part is improving the website without breaking everything that was already working.
That's why I prefer auditing first and redesigning second.
