About the Threads Downloader

Threads posts move fast and disappear into the feed even faster. There's no save-to-device button, and screen recording a clip costs you the audio quality and half the frame. This downloader takes a public post link and hands back the media exactly as it was uploaded — the MP4 for a video post, the JPGs for a photo post, both if the thread mixes them. Useful when you want to keep a demo someone posted, archive your own thread before you delete it, or pull a clip into an edit.

Threads links vs Instagram links

Threads runs on your Instagram account, so the two get confused constantly — but the links are not interchangeable, and pasting the wrong one is the most common reason a download fails.

  • A Threads post looks like threads.net/@name/post/ABC123 — note the /post/segment. That's the one this tool wants.
  • An Instagram post looks like instagram.com/p/ABC123 or /reel/. Same account, different network, different media. Send those to the Instagram Downloader instead.
  • A thread reposted to your Instagram feed is a separate object with its own link — download it from whichever app you copied it in.
  • Threads profile links (threads.net/@name, no /post/) point at a whole feed, not a file. Open the individual post first.

FAQ

Do threads.com links work, or only threads.net?

Both. Threads answers to two domains and we normalize either one before fetching, so paste whichever your app copied.

Can I download a whole thread — the reply chain too?

One post per download. Each reply in a chain has its own link, so grab the ones you actually need.

What about posts from private profiles?

Those stay private. If the post doesn't load in a logged-out browser tab, there's nothing public for us to fetch.

Does the poster find out I downloaded it?

No. There's no view, no like, no notification — we read the same public page a search engine would.
