About the Spotify Cover Art & Preview Downloader
Spotify shows album art as a rounded thumbnail and gives you no way to open the file behind it. Right-click does nothing useful, and a screenshot hands you a soft, already-scaled copy with the player's own rounding baked in. The stored file is a clean 640 by 640 square. Paste a track link and this tool gives you that square, the official 30-second preview clip, and the details that tell you you've got the right song — title, artist and full length — before you save anything.
How to use it
- 1Open the song in Spotify — desktop, mobile or the web player.
- 2Hit the three dots, then Share, then Copy song link.
- 3Paste it above and hit Download, then save the cover art, the preview, or both.
What you get, and what you don't
Two files come back, and both are ones Spotify publishes itself:
- Cover art, 640 x 640— the stored square from Spotify's own image CDN, not a screenshot of the player.
- The 30-second preview — the same clip Spotify embeds on its web player and hands to every third-party app.
The full song is not one of them, and that is deliberate. A track on Spotify is licensed from the artist and their label, and handing out the master recording is not ours to do — no matter how the link is dressed up. If you want the whole song, Spotify Premium plays it offline and pays the people who made it.

Can I download the full song?
Not here. What comes back is the cover art and the 30-second preview Spotify publishes itself. The full recording is licensed to the artist and their label, and we're not going to hand it out. Spotify Premium downloads for offline listening and the money reaches the people who made it.
Why 640 by 640 and not bigger?
That's the size Spotify stores for cover art, and there's no parameter to ask for more. We pass through exactly what's served rather than upscaling, because enlarging a file makes it bigger without making it sharper — and calling that 'HD' would be a lie.
My playlist link doesn't work.
Right — this reads single tracks. Playlist and album links live at different addresses and won't resolve. Open the one song you want, copy its link, and check it has /track/ in it. A failed attempt costs you nothing either way; failed downloads don't count against your free ones.
Some tracks have no preview. Why?
Not every release has one. The 30-second clip is supplied by the rights holder, and when they don't provide it there's simply no file to fetch. You'll still get the cover art and the track details.
Can I use the cover art for my own thing?
Depends what for. Referencing it, sorting your own library, or mocking something up is ordinary use. The artwork is still someone's copyrighted design, so passing it off as yours or selling merchandise with it is not — same rule as any image you didn't make.
Does the artist know I looked?
No. There's no play count, no notification, and nothing touches your account or theirs. You're fetching files Spotify's CDN already serves to anyone who opens the page.
