Building on Cloudflare without venture money just got cheaper. The company's $10,000 startup credit tier is now open to bootstrapped founders, no VC backing required.

The credits last a full 12 months and cover the whole serverless stack, so you are not paying for compute, storage or data transfer while you figure out whether the idea works.

What Happened

Cloudflare now lets bootstrapped startups reach its $10,000 credit tier without VC funding. The tier is aimed at independent founders building digital products on Cloudflare's global compute network.

A few things come with it:

• They cover the entire serverless stack: Cloudflare Workers, the D1 database, and R2 object storage.
• R2 comes with zero egress fees, so moving data out does not add to the bill.
• The tier also includes access to Workers AI and Vectorize.

Why It Matters

Workers AI and Vectorize are the interesting part. They let a developer run language model inference and vector search on the edge server closest to the user, instead of renting a separate GPU box.
