ArtCraft Builds an Open-Source Rival to Claude's REA Tool
Claude is blocking REA (Reverse Engineer Anything), so the team behind the open-source Adobe suite alternatives built their own version. It is called Craft Anything, it is open source, and it hands the reverse-engineering job to whatever AI coding agent you already use.
That covers websites, desktop apps, mobile apps and games, with 284 tools behind it and three ways to run it.

What Happened
ArtCraft built Craft Anything as a free-standing alternative to Claude's REA. Instead of one locked-down tool, your own AI coding agent does the work: it reverse-engineers the thing you point it at, then rebuilds it in the framework or language you prefer.
The part that makes it usable is the comparison step. You can put the recreated version next to the original, see where they differ, and refine the result until it matches.
Craft Anything ships three ways:
- As a desktop app, if you want something to click.
- As a CLI, if you live in a terminal.
- As an MCP server, if you want to wire it into your agent.
It packs 284 tools across those, and yes, it is open source.
Why It Matters
Reverse-engineering an app and rebuilding it in your own stack is one of the more useful things a coding agent can do, and until now it ran through a single company's tool. When that tool gets blocked, the work stops. An open-source version with 284 tools and an MCP server means the workflow can sit inside whatever setup you already have instead of hanging off one vendor's decision.
The compare-and-refine loop matters just as much. A rebuilt app that looks right but behaves differently is worse than no rebuild at all, and being able to see the gaps is what turns a rough generated copy into something you can actually use.
Wrapping Up
If you have been waiting on the sidelines while REA was unavailable, Craft Anything is a straight swap: same idea, open source, and it plugs into the agent you already run. Pick the desktop app if you want to poke at it, the CLI if you are faster on a keyboard, or the MCP server if you want it inside your agent's toolbelt.
