How to Run OpenCreator for Video Translation and Dubbing

Hunting for a free, open-source video translation tool you can run yourself? OpenCreator translates videos, adds subtitles and dubbing, and flips horizontal clips to vertical. It is not a new launch, just the new name for the KrillinAI project.

"Free" here covers the code only. Running it for real takes a Codex CLI login and your own API keys for model, audio, and image services, so it fits people who already use Codex and have keys to hand.

What You Need

Tutorial

1. Log in to Codex CLI. It is the engine that executes OpenCreator's tasks, so nothing runs until that login is in place.
2. Add your API keys in the settings. That is where the model, audio, and image keys go.
3. Pick Edge TTS if you would rather not add an audio key. It needs no key at all, and Whisper can run locally to turn speech into text.

Wrapping Up

Once you are set up, you can translate videos, download them from YouTube and Bilibili, design thumbnails, and dub from text. Automatic short-clip extraction and digital avatars are still in development, so do not count on those yet. If you want an app that just works out of the box, this is not it.
