How to Claim Cursor Pro Credits at MLH Hack Week

Trying to use Cursor Pro without paying the $20 monthly fee? MLH's Global Hack Week: Hacktoberfest runs October 9–15, and participants are reporting a chance at Cursor credits worth about $22 — close to one month of Cursor Pro.

Registration is free and no student email is required. The catch is that the codes are not guaranteed, supplies are reported as limited, delivery can take hours or days, and some participants say the pool is already empty.

How to Claim Cursor Pro Credits at MLH Hack Week

Tutorial

  1. Open https://events.mlh.com/events/14553-global-hack-week-open-source. That is the MLH page where the Global Hack Week registration happens.
  2. Create a free MyMLH account.
  3. Register for Global Hack Week: Hacktoberfest. Registration for the online event is free.
  4. Use an email address you check regularly. If a code comes, email is how it reaches you.
  5. Watch your inbox for a possible Cursor promotional code. Delivery can take hours or days, so check your Spam and Promotions folders too.
  6. Follow the redemption instructions if a code arrives. Pick the monthly plan if the credit is meant to cover one month.
  7. Check your Cursor billing page before upgrading to Pro. Look for renewal charges before you activate a subscription.

Wrapping Up

The event itself is official, but the Cursor credit giveaway and how many codes exist have not been confirmed on the public event page. The listing says the event ends October 15, 2026. Register, keep an eye on that inbox, and treat the credit as a bonus rather than a promise.
