Call.md Records, Transcribes, and Summarizes Meetings Locally

Sitting in a meeting and typing notes means you are half in the room. Call.md is built to handle that part for you: it records the call on your own machine and turns speech into text while people are still talking.

The useful part comes after the call, when the summary and the action items are already written for you.

What Happened

Call.md runs the recording locally, so the audio is captured on your own computer rather than streamed off somewhere first. The transcription happens in real time, which means the text is there as the meeting goes, not hours later.

Once the call is done, the tool writes a summary and pulls the action items out of it. Those results can then be sent to workflow automation platforms, so the follow-up work can move into the tools a team already uses instead of being retyped by hand.

Why It Matters

Meetings produce two things everybody needs and almost nobody wants to type up: a record of what was said and a list of who agreed to do what. Having the transcript arrive live and the summary arrive ready cuts out most of that cleanup.

Keeping the recording on your own machine is the other half of it. If your calls cover anything you would rather not hand to a stranger's server, local capture is the difference between using a tool like this and skipping it entirely.
