How to Get Free App Hosting and PostgreSQL With Prisma
Looking for somewhere to host a side project without handing over a card number? Prisma runs a free tier for app hosting and a PostgreSQL database, and you can get into it in a few minutes.
The free plan covers 1 million requests a month, 360 GB-hours of memory, 4 vCPU-hours of compute and 10 GB of outbound bandwidth. The database side gives you 200,000 operations a month, 1.01 GB of storage, up to 50 databases and unlimited data transfer.

Tutorial
- Open https://prisma.io/pricing. That page lays out what each plan includes, so you can see the free limits before you commit to anything.
- Click Start for free and create your account. No credit card is needed for the free tier.
- Follow the deployment guide to deploy your TypeScript app and connect the database. It covers both halves: getting the app running and wiring it to a Prisma Postgres database.
- Monitor your usage through the Prisma Console. This is where you see how much of each monthly limit you have burned through.
Wrapping Up
One thing to keep in mind: the compute resources are monthly usage limits, not a permanent allowance. If you go past them, the app can pause until the next period starts, or you can upgrade to a paid plan. Idle apps scale to zero, so a quiet project will not eat into that budget while nobody is using it.
