Video2X Brings AI-Powered 4K Video Upscaling to Your Local Machine
Got old 360p footage that looks blurry on a modern screen? Video2X is a free, open-source tool that uses machine learning to upscale low-res video into crisp 4K.
It runs locally, works on anime clips and retro footage, and supports several AI backends, so you can remaster your video library without paying a subscription.

What Happened
Video2X is an ML-driven lossless video super-resolution framework. It integrates Real-ESRGAN, Waifu2x, Real-CUGAN, and Anime4K, and uses Vulkan and CUDA for GPU-accelerated rendering. The project is open-source and processes everything offline.
The source code is on GitHub at https://github.com/k4yt3x/video2x.
Why It Matters
That means you can bring old clips back to life without uploading them to a cloud service or paying per minute. The repo has the code and instructions for running it yourself. Starring it is a good way to keep up with updates.
