How to Get Free AI Models Through APINEX
Looking for a free way to test multiple LLMs without draining your API balance? APINEX is an OpenAI- and Anthropic-compatible gateway that routes to models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek, GLM, and xAI.
The free models let you run completions without burning credits, and one base URL plugs into Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, or your own agent.
What You Need
- A Google account to sign in with.
- A client or agent that accepts a custom base URL, such as Cursor, Windsurf, or Claude Code.
Tutorial
- Register at https://apinex.bond/
- Sign in with Google and generate your API key, which starts with sk-apx.
- Check https://apinex.bond/models for the free models, then point your client to https://api.apinex.bond/v1.
Wrapping Up
You now have a working APINEX endpoint with free models and one API key for your coding assistant or agent. Use the same key for the web search, scraping, and voice endpoints too if your project needs them. Start testing and see which model fits your workflow.
