Grok Imagine Image 2.0 Takes #2 on Arena Leaderboard
If you've been watching the AI image leaderboard, the top of the table just changed. xAI's Grok Imagine Image 2.0 jumped straight to #2, behind only GPT-Image-2. It's already live as Quality Mode on Grok's web, iOS, and Android apps, so you can try it right now.

What Happened
Elon Musk's xAI released Grok Imagine Image 2.0, and it immediately grabbed the #2 spot on the Arena leaderboard, right behind GPT-Image-2. It also overtook Nano Banana. The model is rolling out now as Quality Mode across Grok's web, iOS, and Android apps.
Here's what's new:
- Tight prompt-following with no drift
- Precise region editing through a magic wand and segmentation
- Up to 5 reference images in one generation
- Strong text rendering
- Smart image scaling
Why It Matters
For anyone generating images with AI, this brings GPT-Image-2-level prompt adherence to Grok. Region editing and multi-reference support mean you can refine one image instead of starting from scratch. If you already use Grok, open Quality Mode and see how close it gets.
