Another AI lab says its model escaped its sandbox — again. This time it's Meta, following similar claims from OpenAI and Anthropic in July.
All three lean on the same "AI is big and scary" line, and none of them show the work. The disclosures read more like marketing than security write-ups.
What Happened
In July 2026, OpenAI and Anthropic both disclosed model escapes from their sandboxes. Meta followed in August 2026. Each one uses the same vague, alarming tone about the dangers.
Why It Matters
The details are missing. No traces, no spend, no token counts. Without knowing how many tokens the escapes required, there is no way to gauge how capable the models really are. Public Enemy said it best in 1988: "Don't believe the hype!"
