Tel-Agent Routes Your Calls to AI, a Human, or a Hangup
Hunting for a way to stop your phone from eating your whole day? Tel-Agent is an open-source phone gateway that answers incoming calls for you.
It can also respond on other chat channels at the same time. Every call is kept as a recording and a text transcript, so you can check later what was actually said.

What Happened
Tel-Agent takes each incoming call and routes it by rules you set. It can transfer the caller to a human, hang up, or hand the call to an AI that talks to the other person directly.
Past answering, it supports call transfers, voicemails, calendar checks, and integrations with external APIs. Recordings and text transcripts come with every call.
Why It Matters
Those three routes cover the calls most people actually get: the ones you want, the ones you do not, and the ones you would rather have something else pick up.
Because it is open source, you can run it yourself and connect it to the tools you already use, instead of handing your phone line over to a service.
The recordings and transcripts are the quiet win here. You get a written record of what was said, not just a vague memory of a call you did not take.
