Humain M3: Saudi Arabia's 428B Arabic AI Model
Arabic is usually something big AI models support on the side. Humain M3 was built the other way around — an Arabic-first model with 428 billion parameters, and you can already try it on the Humain NODE platform.
That is a mixture-of-experts model from HUMAIN, the company owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. HUMAIN says it holds up in real-world testing and competes with the strongest AI models in the world.

What Happened
- HUMAIN launched humain-m3, an Arabic AI model with 428B parameters in a mixture-of-experts setup.
- The announced tests ran across seven Arabic benchmarks, with the focus on language and culture rather than plain translation. The source describes the results as strong.
- The model is built for agents. You can connect it straight to the API with OpenCode or Codex, with Claude coming.
- It also works as an ordinary chat, the same way you would use ChatGPT or Gemini.
- Training covered text, images and video, and it can work directly with what is on the screen.
- Fully open weights are promised later, along with three reasoning modes, including Adaptive and Off.
- Everything runs through Humain NODE, which puts this model next to 100+ others — positioned as the Saudi alternative to OpenRouter — with the option to run on local servers.
Why It Matters
For anyone building for Arabic speakers, this is the first time a Saudi-backed model is pitched as a serious contender rather than a side project. HUMAIN's goal is to move Arabic from a language models merely support into a practical tool for companies and institutions, dialects and local needs included. If the open weights arrive as promised, you will be able to run it on your own local servers instead of through someone else's platform.
