4 Open-Source Orchestrators for Running AI Coding Agents in Parallel
Running one AI coding agent at a time is starting to look old. These four open-source orchestrators let you coordinate many agents at once, each working in its own isolated git worktree, without file collision headaches.

What Happened
Here is what each tool brings to the table:
- Orca — terminal-first agent orchestrator for coordinating 10 to 100 coding agents at the same time. You bring your own Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor CLI subscriptions and drive them side-by-side.
- Paseo — self-hosted agent control plane you can supervise from your phone. Run a local daemon on your workstation and manage Claude Code, Codex, and Copilot tasks from desktop, CLI, iOS, or Android.
- Emdash — desktop-first Agentic Development Environment (YC W26). It imports tickets from Linear, GitHub, or Jira, assigns them to isolated Git worktrees, previews apps in a built-in browser, and lets you review diffs in one click.
- Superset — built to orchestrate 100+ parallel coding agents with a unified monitoring dashboard. It pairs persistent terminal splits, automated task scheduling, and isolated worktree sandboxes so you can test multiple solutions and merge the winner.
Why It Matters
This changes the shape of a coding workflow. Instead of feeding prompts to one agent, you can distribute tasks across many agents, keep them in separate worktrees, and merge the solution that wins. If you already pay for Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor CLI, at least Orca and Paseo plug into subscriptions you have, so the main cost is trying one out.
