How to Transfer Files Peer to Peer With Share Rich

Got a photo or a document that needs to reach the device right next to you? Share Rich transfers files directly between two devices over the same network, with no cloud upload in between. It is a browser-based WebRTC app, and the whole thing is open source.

What You Need

• Two devices on the same Wi-Fi network, or connected over Wi-Fi Direct or a phone hotspot.
• A web browser on each device.

Tutorial

1. Open https://sharerich.vercel.app/ from both devices.
2. Connect the two devices using the QR code or PIN. The WebRTC pairing keeps the route direct between them.
3. Send the photos, videos, or documents you want to move. The transfer stays between the two browsers, so no file lands on a server.
